Festa della grandine (Feast of
the hail)

Dates
back to the 1700 and is held in the third Sunday in May. A relic of Saint Phillip is
carried in a procession as thanks for protection from the plague. All the area
organisations take part carrying their standards which date from the year 600.

Dates to the XIV° century, the main
roads in the village are covered with a tapestry of fresh flower petals and banners are
hung from windows and balconies for the solemn procession carrying the holy sacrament.

The
feast of the "Pardon"

Like
all neighbouring villages Castelfranco once a year, celebrates the feast of the
pardon . It is held on the last Sunday of August . Several cultural, folklore
and sporting events and competitions take place . Youngsters eagerly await the arrival of
the funfair. The event which continues over the weekend, ends with a fireworks display.

faire

The antiques and collectors faire is
held on the 25 April in the village square

The
live crib

The live presentation of the Nativity Is held on the 25 December every 2
years (odd years). More than 100 locals dress up and enact the nativity (complete with
live animals) accompanied with biblical readings and music. It is traditional that the
last born of the village represents Baby Jesus.

The Children’s carnival

The last 2 Sundays of the carnival
period and Mardi Grass, the children celebrate carnival in the village square along with a
selection of floats.
